This is really cool! I love when you do links to art stuff.
On an unrelated note- I was wondering if you have been having problems
posting links to blogger on facebook. I have been suddenly having trouble
(and by that I mean it won't do it) and so I looked up some other bloggers
I read on fb to see if they post links.
I noticed you have in the past... have you had problems lately?

There are a few more weathered barns coming up, but none of their walls are grey (some grey roofs, though). I wanted red to be the common element in this series (and it contrasts very well with the green landscape).

Possibly. Most of the photos were taken incidentally while driving from Point A to various Point Bs around the County over many months. I now pass a few of them from time to time and remember painting them, but no notes were taken while shooting.

I love your list, Milé. What a great idea -

My son will be 2 years old in a couple of weeks.
He has accomplished many things, including learning to run (he skipped crawling and walking), learning to play, communicate, create, explore, love and care for others, share his toys. I accomplished giving birth to him, and staying somewhat sane despite the demands of life in the county with 2 toddlers and a restaurant. Today was his first day at daycare, and this morning he woke me up by lying very close to my face, waiting for me to open my eyes, and giving me a giant gooey kiss and hug around the neck. To me that was a sign that I've accomplished something important and is the 'thing' of which I am most proud.

Congratulations co-worker Milé on your amazing list of accomplishments! Truly praiseworthy.

My biggest accomplishment, or the one of which I am most proud is completing the inventory of my grandfather's working library (and keeping a blog along the way.

There are more, but they are those small, simple things like surviving, managing to support living in the County, and having an amazing partner to share it all with.

Things I've accomplished in the last two years: Super plug for winning - brought Arlene and Small Ponds together!
Renovated and sold one century farm house and renovated and purchased one 50's era bungalow
In stages have said good by to my two daughters both of whom have moved out of our home
replaced a toilet, insulated attic
GT Raced down Rockie Mountain, Snow mobiled in Rockie Mountain and learning to skate ski, learning how to shoot rifles and shotguns at the range
Helping my Mom sell her home so she can move into a retirement assisted living home
Road trips with Mom and youngest daughter to Long Island NY - twice
Really learning to laugh at myself and have successfully adopted "I am not afraid" as a code to live by. Loving Life more every day.

Congrats on two years of Small Pond Arts, Krista and Milé! You both certainly have made a big splash in our little pond! And now, to enter your cool contest: The accomplishment in the last couple years of which I'm most proud is starting my character design/cartooning project, 'Character Of The Day.' Hope that'll do it. Fingers crossed, big bucks no whammies!

Convinced my the fiance to move to the County
Bought a house and moved to the County
Got married
Made my first wedding cake (my own)
Adopted a third cat
Created a vegetable garden of my very own and reaped the benefits of growing your own everything, which I patiently wait to start this season…
Met and worked with some truly amazing and inspiring people
Loved living in a place where the air smells good even if it smells like manure…I love manure….Is that strange?
Bought the Regent Cafe
At any rate it's been an awesome two years and I am constantly amazed by how satisfying it is when you put a little faith in yourself.

* Ran Ottawa ½ marathon in personal best time

* Took a road trip to Cooperstown NY and visited the Baseball Hall of Fame (also winning best girlfriend-of-the-year award)

* Stood as a bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding

* Celebrated Canada Day on Parliament Hill with HRH the Queen and the Barenaked Ladies!

* Became a permanent employee of the Government of Canada

* Visited Arizona: Hiked Camelback Mountain and saw the Grand Canyon

* Completed 30 day vegan and yoga challenge

* Ice skated on the Rideau Canal

* Honed my super-sleuth skills as a professional mystery shopper

* Completed an 8-hour yogathon

* Mountain biked in Canmore

* Saw Crowded House, Keith Urban, Feist, INXS, 54-40, Platinum Blonde and Ben Harper in concert (not at the same time)

* Swam in the Atlantic

* Had my report tabled in Parliament

* Raised lots of $$ for Care Canada, Because I am a Girl and the Breast Cancer Foundation

* Nominated as a Director of the Liberal party in my riding association; on 1st name basis with several Members of Parliament, who I greatly admire

* Traveled to Iceland; swam in the Blue Lagoon, rode horses across lava fields, attended a friggin’ sweet house party/jam session, learned about Vikings

* Completed 125 hours of volunteer work in 1 year (served meals, ushered plays, sold fundraising tickets, tutored homeless men, and lots of other cool stuff)

* Completed a diploma in Access to Information and Privacy from the U of A

* Practiced lots of yoga on Parliament Hill

* Landed a sweet job in International Trade

* Appointed as a delegate at the National Biennial Liberal Convention (voted in favour of legalization of marijuana policy)

* Bought our first home

* Got engaged to the love of my life

* Scored tickets to see Oprah

* Mentored an Australian law student

Proudest thing for me in the past two years is my art. I aimed for having a show in 2010 and ended up being part of three in a matter of months.

My work is getting known, I've been getting more work, work that I actually enjoy doing *cough cough stick fest*

The secret I found to it all was putting more heart into it, more love into what I do, andit shows in my work, and my clients see that too.

The main thing I have accomplished in the last 2 years is putting together stage one of our move to Prince Edward COunty. Stage one was planning - stage two is working hard for the next two years and accomplishing our dream. Stage three will be to enjoy that dream.

Things that I've accomplished in the past two years...although pails in comparison to what you've accomplished
Still survived living in the country having moved here 3 years ago and not ran back to the city
Got to be an expert of lighting wood stoves
Ran for council and ended up with more than 20 votes
Became co-chair of the Eastern Ontario Photo Show
Served up more hot dogs and hot chocolate for community events than I care to count
Live in an old house that I adore despite the constant repairs and rennovations it requirers
Lived without television
Supported the kids artist endeavours in theatre and visual art
And 15 years ago I was too shy to call and order a pizza over the phone....

Things I've accomplished in the last 2 years:
- directed a musical that became a Toronto Fringe hit and Best of Fringe selection....and it was my first time ever participating in a Fringe Festival!
- became an ACTRA Apprentice
- got the opportunity to play my one and only 'dream' role (Jenny in The Threepenny Opera)
- auditioned for both the Shaw and Stratford Festivals
- became a home owner
- got a new agent who is so wonderful and supportive, and I have had more opportunities open to me as an actor since signing with her
- I am so proud of how far my theatre company has progressed over the past few years. We started from scratch in every way imaginable, and now we've made a bit of a name for ourselves in Toronto's independent theatre community, with acclaim from the press and public alike.

I'd seen other painters "poke holes" in foliage and wanted to try it myself. It works great if you're putting light over dark (sky over leaves, for example).

Mile: I was so happy to see that your 'Field to Canvas' series went so extremely well.
